If you are a subscriber on our list you know that we send out a lot of free self help PLR content on a regular basis. The content can be used in dozens of different ways (blog posts, articles, social media posts, content for email marketing, within a training course, as the basis of an ebook you sell, etcโฆ)
Today, Iโd like to show you an example of using PLR to create a free give-away for lead generation. In addition to the give-away, I also want to show you how PLR can help you create a nice upsell offer to complement the give-away as well.
Here is the basic process:
1. Create a page on your website where you explain the free offer
.
2. Create a confirmation page where you tell them to check their inbox (this is the upsell page)
.
3. Create a download page once they confirm their email address. This includes a download link to your freebie AND a link back to your upsell
.
Note: In our video example, the autoresponder software we use is called ActiveCampaign. We highly recommend it as it allows you to create custom follow up sequences for your subscribers based on which items they have purchases/downloaded.

what is PLR? It’s on all your stuff, but using acronyms isn’t trendy, it’s poor communication.
That’s great feedback, thanks Kristin. On this website, we sell “Editable” content that you can purchase, then modify and publish as your own. Otherwise referred to as “Private Label Rights” or PLR content. I have talked about PLR for so many years and been immersed in this business for so long that I sometimes forget to define it for people who are new to this world. Thank you for the reminder and I hope the video makes more sense with this explanation ๐
Justin
Hi Kristin, actually, it’s very well known to an ideal client and is used to filter those who need it from those who don’t. I understand it very well. ๐
It’s stuff that’s prewritten for you that you can own and sell (Or just use) as your own to help you learn and also make money on it without having to do the work on your own. However, realize that anyone can buy it, so it may be out there under someone else’s name, too…so some modification is necessary, like rewriting the titles and spinning the topic to your actually biz niche/ subniche.
Very helpful video, Justin… have learnt so much from you ๐ Thank you ๐
That’s great! Glad it helped Liz ๐
I’m just getting started and do not have a website. Are there other ways to market the products? How do you get build a list to get people to your website? How do people find out about what you have to offer?
Hey David
At the very least you will want a blog as your “home base”. You can start for free with http://wordpress.com/ and then use an autoresponder tool (we use Active Campaign but you might want to try Aweber.com) to build/mail your list. But if you wont want to sell content on your blog, you can use a platform like Udemy to publish courses or any other publishing platform (i.e. Kindle for ebooks) to sell content outside of your website.
Thanks!
justin
Darn, as I am now going through your training I see so many products that I could have used if I had been coming in for the free PLR offerings……. Once again, a great training video…. I guess I will be spending the day tomorrow looking at all my PLR and deciding how to incorporate some of it into a product and list magnet.

Hey Fran,
Glad you liked the training. If you are on our mailing list, you will see an email (usually every Tuesday) where we send out new Free content that you can use for stuff like building lead magnets ๐
Well,it’s true,PLR is great but how do we send traffic to those wonderful offers?
That’s the catch!
There are so many ways to drive traffic to your offers! If you have the budget, paid advertising is obviously the quickest… but it requires time to learn so you do it correctly and optimize your spend. We get a lot of traffic from our affiliates which I recommend. Publishing free content to blogs and social is a great way to generate organic traffic over time. Doing direct selling works. Participating in groups where you can share links to your material is another option to try. Making appearances on other people’s blogs, podcasts, webinars, youtube channels, etc…. If you are just starting out, I would recommend trying all of the above and just be relentless. Spend time every time taking action on things that can get traffic to your site!
